ABOUT THE NATIONAL FELLOWS

OUR MISSION & VISION
Our Vision
Our vision at the National Fellows is to form young men and women who embrace servant leadership as a kingdom responsibility, laboring with excellence and seeking the city’s good so its people and institutions flourish as Christ renews all things.
Our Mission
Our mission is to train Fellows to embody theology in the whole of life, to adopt formative spiritual disciplines that anchor them in Christ’s authority, and to join their daily work to God’s redeeming purpose in the world. The result is a life where faith and vocation are not rivals but partners—an integrated calling that advances the mission of God as He brings all things into alignment with His kingdom.

The Founding of the First Fellows Program
Transforming Lives since 1994
In 1993, The Falls Church Anglican’s Rev. Dr. John Yates (retired,) proposed a training program for youth pastors. He shared his idea with his good friend Doug Holladay, who worked on Wall Street. Doug challenged John – “You’re not thinking BIG enough!” Doug’s argument was that the church ought to be training young pastors, yes — but the church should mainly be training young adults to lead in their professions – in business, finance, government, education, medicine, the arts — wherever God called them. After much prayer, and God’s refinement, The Falls Church Fellows Program accepted its first class in 1994. From that very first class, fellows have been equipped and emboldened each year, to live out their Christian faith as they pursue God’s call on their lives.
As TFCA’s Fellows Program alumni began scattering across the country and around the world, word of the program spread, and the Fellows Program Director began fielding inquiries from pastors about how they might start a program in their church. To meet this need, TFCA launched The Fellows Initiative. Today, TFI has helped start 36 fellows programs in churches across the country – all of them modeled after the founding Fellows at The Falls Church Anglican.
